The Scholarship & Freeship Committee is constituted to ensure equitable access to higher education by facilitating financial assistance to deserving students, with special focus on Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Groups (SEDGs). The Committee promotes inclusivity, retention, and merit-based progression by reducing financial barriers to education. It functions as a structured institutional mechanism to disseminate information, guide students through application processes, and monitor the effective and timely disbursement of scholarships and freeships. The Committee also ensures transparency and accountability in the administration of financial aid. Through targeted support, it contributes to improved student retention, success, and equity outcomes.

  1. To ensure equitable access to higher education by facilitating financial assistance to students from Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Groups (SEDGs).
  2. To promote student retention and reduce dropouts by providing timely scholarships and freeships to deserving and needy students.
  3. To create awareness about government, institutional, and private scholarship schemes among students through systematic dissemination of information.
  4. To support merit-based and need-based financial assistance, encouraging academic excellence and inclusive growth.
  5. To strengthen institutional mechanisms for financial aid governance, ensuring transparency, accountability, and timely disbursement.
  1. Identify eligible students for scholarships and freeships through verification of academic performance and socio-economic background.
  2. Disseminate information and guidelines related to various central, state, institutional, and private scholarship schemes.
  3. Assist students in the application, documentation, and submission process, including online portals and compliance requirements.
  4. Monitor the disbursement and utilization of scholarships and freeships, maintaining records and ensuring timely support.
  5. Coordinate with government agencies, funding bodies, and institutional authorities to ensure smooth implementation of scholarship schemes.
