overall development.
Every NSS volunteer is required to complete 120 hours of community-based activity in an Academic Year, which includes initiatives such as health check-up camps, cleanliness and environmental awareness campaigns, blood donation drives, digital literacy programs, and various social outreach activities. Upon successful completion of the prescribed hours, volunteers are awarded 10 grace marks as per University Ordinance O.229. Additionally, learners who complete 60 hours in each semester through NSS activities are eligible for exemption in external examination as per university guidelines. Furthermore, participation in National, State, University, District, or College-level Special Camps provides volunteers with the benefit of a Semester II or Semester IV paper exemption on submission of a certified participation/attendance certificate issued by the Programme Officer. The Special Camping Programme is recognized as a separate activity. To ensure smooth functioning and adherence to the University norms, the NSS Unit operates under an Advisory Committee, comprising representatives from both the University-level NSS Advisory Body and the College-level NSS Committee. This Committee oversees planning, implementation, evaluation of activities, and provides guidance and
support to the Program Officers and volunteers.
Through its value-based approach, the NSS Unit plays a significant role in shaping responsible, aware, and service-oriented individuals, truly reflecting the spirit of NEP 2020. Over the years, the dedicated contributions of our NSS volunteers have earned the College several awards and recognitions for excellence in community service.
